The Review: Dielle Nail Colour

I love the smell of nail polish in the morning!! A fab new line of nail polishes have just been detected on my radar, Dielle a concious polish brand with no Toluene, Formaldehyde, DBP, Camphor, & Pthalic Acid so you can feel good about putting it on you fingers.
Dielle are also active in giving back and inspiring women, the founder Ros is committed to making positive change in countries like Haiti. Dielle also creates nail polishes with ALL skin tones in mind, creating shades that complement every woman.

The lovely people at Dielle sent me some polishes to try just in time for the festive season
I picked out Modern Goddess, Composed and was sent Unyielding Courage & Lustre Gel Coat as well (bonus!)

So what's so good about it?  if the fact that it it doesn't contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, DBP, Camphor, & Pthalic Acid doesn't sway you then perhaps the perfect  shades will.
I love the Dielle colour palette, though it includes orange, yellow and a bright pink the hues are very grown up and quite muted. 'Composed' is one of the best taupe colours I've tried with great coverage.
The polishes are all very fast drying my nail art was done and dry in 10 minutes. The Lustre Gel Coat gives a very professional finish to your nails.
This is grown people polish! it's not like some £2 polish from superdrug, if Rimmel is the bratty little sister then Dielle is the classy aunt, strong, elegant & understated.

Ok so what wrong with it? It's at the higher end of the price bracket at £12 (Dielle are currently having a sale so each bottle is only £9) per bottle, the price does reflect the quality of the nail polish and they hold there own against OPI & Essie (possibly better because Dielle polishes dry faster!)
Also some might find the line to small, with only 20 shades to pick from, however with the collection most colours are accounted for.

Baby Belle's Blog

For fear of this blog becoming slightly Freya overloaded (like you can ever have too much Freya!) the little lady has her own space www.babynaturalbelle.tumblr.com
which follows the life & times of Baby Belle from conception (almost!) and is basically a place that mummy can dump the 100's of pictures she has been taking (I finally have a subject to practice my  photography and she can't do anything about it!)

Follow Freya's fashion choices, check out her stylish finds and which babies she thinks rock (almost as much as she does...but not quite!)

The Review: Liz Earle Colour

A while ago I was invited to the launch of Liz Earles newly launched make up line, as a huge fan of the brands natural skin and hair care I was initially excited about their venture is into make up products however I was disappointed with the lack of shades for darker skin tones. I ended up giving my sample to my Portuguese friend with olive skin (she loved it.... I was well jel!). I have often been outspoken in the lack of representation of darker skinned women in the mainstream beauty industry and the lack of response by big brands. So I was over the moon to be informed that Liz Earle had heard our cries and had added several darker shades to the Liz Earle Colour range.

So why is this a big deal? the fact that Liz Earle are new to make up means that it is very unusual for them to expand their colour palette, make up doesn't make up much of the sales in many beauty* brands (*beauty brands that focus more on Skincare & Haircare)
So the fact that Liz Earle have gone against the grain and represented women of colour is a BIG DEAL!

That being said is it any good? HELL TO THE YES! this Liz Earle formula surely must have silk in it as it floats onto skin like a dream. I had the opportunity to try  Liz Earles Signature Foundation in MOCHA 09 (£21.00), Perfect Fix Concealer in DEEP 07(£13.50) &Natural Finish Pressed Powder in SHEER MOCHA 07(£21.00). The stand out product for me was the Signature Foundation (for all skin types (£21.00) the light weight formula aids in an easy build up of coverage, perfect for people who like skin to look flawless rather than their foundation.

"Silky formula offers easy-to-build coverage and glides on easily to give a smooth, radiant finish and an even, natural-looking complexion. Beautifully buildable and blendable, with a special mix of spherical particles and coated pigments that offer long-lasting colour. Enriched with our own natural source vitamin E"

Aqua (water), Cyclopentasiloxane, Propylene glycol, PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone, Alumina, Silica, Dimethicone, Cyclohexasiloxane, Polysorbate 20, Ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer, Sodium chloride, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Glycine soja (soybean) oil, Synthetic beeswax, Phenoxyethanol, Silica dimethyl silylate, Disodium cocoyl glutamate, Ethylene brassylate, Sodium dehydroacetate, Methylparaben, Sodium cocoyl glutamate, Sorbitan sesquioleate, Propylparaben, Ethylparaben, +/- CI 77019 (mica), CI 77491 (iron oxides), CI 77492 (iron oxides), CI 77499 (iron oxides), CI 77891 (titanium dioxide).

"Soft and feather-light for a natural-looking, matte, yet luminous finish. Our special micronised pigments help minimise the appearance of minor skin imperfections and ensure colour purity, making it perfect for touch-ups throughout the day. Enriched with our own natural source vitamin E, borage and avocado."

Talc, Dimethicone, Silica, Octyldodecyl lactate, Nylon-12, Polymethyl methacrylate, Zea mays (corn) starch, Borago officinalis (borage) seed oil, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Persea gratissima (avocado) oil, Glycine soja (soybean) oil, Octyldodecyl stearoyl stearate, Dimethiconol, Zeolite, Polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate, Methylparaben, Sorbic acid, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Lauroyl lysine, Tetrasodium EDTA, Zinc stearate, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, BHT, +/- CI 77019 (mica), CI 77163 (bismuth oxychloride), CI 77491 (iron oxides), CI 77492 (iron oxides), CI 77499 (iron oxides), CI 77510 (ferric ferrocyanide), CI 77891 (titanium dioxide).

lightweight concealer to disguise blemishes, minor skin imperfections and dark circles. Our creamy formula blends easily, without dragging the delicate under-eye area. Enriched with a derivative of natural source vitamin E.

C12-15 Alkyl benzoate, Ethylhexyl palmitate, Sorbitan sesquioleate, Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, Stearic acid, Polyethylene, Cetearyl ethylhexanoate, Trimethylsiloxyphenyl dimethicone, Nylon-12, Kaolin, Sodium silicoaluminate, Tocopheryl acetate, +/- CI 19140 (yellow 5 lake), CI 77007 (ultramarines), CI 77019 (mica), CI 77491 (iron oxides), CI 77492 (iron oxides), CI 77499 (iron oxides), CI 77891 (titanium dioxide).

So what's wrong with it? There is nothing wrong with the formula, packaging or overall greatness of the Liz Earle Colour range, But if you are darker than me you'll need to look elsewhere for now. Though Liz Earle Colour have added 4 new shades Honey, Carmel, Nutmeg & Mocha we all know they are not the only shades needed for darker skin tones.

However we must take responsibility, a lot of brands state very low sales in darker shades leading to them being discontinued so we as consumers need to create a demand and support brands like Liz Earle by purchasing these shades  so they have no choice but to expand.

Thankfully Liz Earle have reached out to different types of bloggers to get the information out there that darker skin tones ARE being catered for (take note beauty brands/PR)

Life According To Instagram

Life according to instagram has been very family orientated well should I say Freya orientated!  It's seems our house hold is smitten with a certain little lady. Her powers have even managed to break the hold of the Xbox on her 12 year old brother who it seem has fallen head over heels in love with little sis.  Where as my free time has been spent making the lady of the house some cute hair accessories and daddy? well he has been busy giving the lady WHATEVER she wants. I don't see the 'Freya Take Over' ending any time soon.....long may she reign!

Gift Ideas: MALIN+GOETZ Chamomile Treatment Oil

Luxury skin care brand MALIN+GOETZ have launched a oil treatment. The chamomile oil is spa grade which explains the £52 price tag.
It's multi tasking, light weight and a little goes a long long way, I've been using a pump a day for 3 weeks and I still have plenty left so price per pump is pretty good.
For those who have dry skin/hair this oil is great if you don't fancy parting with the cash put it on your Christmas list because if you can't be treated to luxuries at Christmas when can you!

Works great in my hair adds shine and locks in moisture (use sparingly!)
